About Us
Kristen Chase, Co-Founder and Principal, took the plunge into motherhood via a surprise pregnancy - now with three children under five, including a newborn. In her former life she was a published textbook author, musician, and college professor, all of which she's traded for a satisfying new position as stay-at-home-parent. Kristen is the author of the widely popular weblog
Motherhood Uncensored, and is a featured columnist at
The Imperfect Parent. Additionally, she co-founded and currently co-edits
Cool Mom Picks, a cheeky product and service review blog for discerning moms, which was recently featured in Real Simple Magazine. She currently lives in Atlanta.
Julie Marsh, Co-Founder and Principal, was a professional project manager for ten years - skills which have translated easily to parenting two little girls and a bouncing baby boy. She spent four years at the Pentagon and several more in the New York metro area before succumbing to suburbia in the wild wild West. Julie is the author of
The Mom Slant a commentary on current events from a mother's perspective, and contributes to multiple other online sites, including
Cool Mom Picks,
The Imperfect Parent,
Rocky Mountain Moms Blog, and
Mile High Mamas.
Staff
Kari Dahlen traded formal neuroscience research for firsthand data collection when she had her first son, a young mathematician and avid soccer player who was diagnosed with pdd-nos at age four. Her second son plans to take over the world or become an Olympic gymnast. Kari writes about autistic spectrum disorders and life in general at
The Karianna Spectrum. She also contributes to the
Silicon Valley Moms Blog, does product reviews at
Reviews from the Couch, and works behind the scenes at
Cool Mom Picks and
Mommy Track'd.
Lisa Bertrand has had a number of jobs which, like parenting, has involved working odd hours late into the night. She's been a photographer/reporter, a communications project manager for a large E/A firm, and a small business owner. Career aspirations were put on hold when a fair-haired babe entered the picture. (Yes, she only has one. She's not nearly as brave as Kristen, Julie and Kari. Although she wishes she were.) Lisa writes about parenting, relationships, and suburban life at
Midwestern Mommy, and her product assessments can be found at
Midwestern Mommy Reviews. She is also co-founder of the
St. Louis Bloggers Guild.
